MANILA, Philippines – After embracing the Islam religion, Queenie Padilla, the daughter of the Bad Boy of the Philippine Cinema Robin Padilla, says she’s leaving show business for good.

"When I was in showbiz, I was very unhappy. I was lost and I always felt I never belong[ed]. But now that Allah is in my life, Alhamdullilah, La illa illalah, I am so happy and content in my life,” she said in a report by abs-cbnNEWS.com on Nov. 22.

Queenie recently performed the Islam religious duty, Hajj, a pilgrimage to Makkah in Saudi Arabia.

Having found “inner peace” and “direction” in the religion, the 20-year-old actress said she enjoys her new life, which led her to decide to turn her back on local showbiz.

"Islam is a way of life. When you start to [become a] Muslim, you know [what] your life purpose really is. I am such a sinful person, but Allah invited me to his house. I am so close to him," she said.

In Islam, Haraam is the term used to refer to anything that is prohibited by the word of Allah in the Qur'an or the Hadith Qudsi, commonly known as prophet sayings.

In addition, she noted, “Actually I already quit [showbiz] like eight months [ago], since my last appearance on TV.”

Queenie was part of the Kapamilya primetime series, “Momay,” wherein she was paired with actor Ejay Falcon.

More, she thanked her father Robin for introducing her to Islam.

“I just want to thank my father for giving me the opportunity to perform Hajj. And I love him so much because without my father, I might not have been a Muslim,” she said.

Recall that in a report last March, her mother Liezl Sicangco, a natural born Islam, appealed to her daughters Queenie and Kylie to return to the Muslim faith.
